The Bear and the Nightingale 

I am so excited to be starting my @fable book club today! This has been something I have been working on in the background for a few months and today is finally the day.

This club will be mostly fantasy, but we may sprinkle in a few other genres here and there, because ✨she contains multitudes✨

To start, we will be buddy reading a book that has been on my TBR for literal years–The Bear and the Nightingale by Katherine Arden! It’s the perfect winter mood read. I’m counting on you all to be my accountability buddies.

November was definitely a slower month. I didn't read nearly as much as I usually do, but I'm totally okay with that, because almost all of the books I did read were complete banger.

November Reading Wrap Up!

Watch for a minute and a half of me gushing over my book of the year.  The way this book came into my life and immediately bested all other books I’ve read this year without so much of a fight. I’m over here like 🫠 and immediately jumping into An Ember in the Ashes series. Don’t you dare jump into the comments and yell at me for reading this first. The Serpent and the Wolf is officially out in bookstores ✨

First off, what romantasy reader can resist a novel that starts out with the FMC holding a knife to the MMC’s throat?

From well-developed world-building, a unique magic system, political intrigue, court drama, and a high-stakes, enemies-to-lovers romance, this book had everything I crave in a romantasy novel. What an incredible start to a new series.

I’ve been wanting to get into book binding for the last year, so when my husband told me I needed to find a real hobby (that’s not work), this seemed like a logical choice.

This little book isn’t perfect, but for my very first try, I think it’s pretty darn great. I’ve got book 2 ready to glue up tonight and book 3 is floating around in my brain.
